Idaho State University
Dear Coaches:
My name is Ram Eddings. I am the head coach at Idaho State University Rugby Club. Idaho State is a mid-size university of 14,000 located in Pocatello, ID.
We are a Division 2 Program. We have been in existence since 1996. This past year we made it to the Elite 8 for the first time in our history. We are excited about this opportunity and will continue to improve our standing. Our goal is a National Championship. We play in the Utah Rugby Union Collegiate Conference. The teams include D1-BYU, University of Utah, and Utah State. D2 include; Idaho State, Weber State University, Utah Valley State College, and the Southern Utah University. We have one of the most competitive conferences in the country. In 2005 three of our teams made the Elite 8 and two finished number 2 and 3 in the nation.
We are one of the few schools that offer incentives for rugby players. We offer out of state tuition fee waivers for non-residents of Idaho. Our tuition is about $2400 a semester, with a total cost of about $14,500 for the full year including, tuition, books, housing, and food. So as you can see we are reasonable. We have seven colleges. College of Business, College of Pharmacy, College of Education, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Technology, College of Engineering, and the Health Professions. Academically we are a good school.
I am looking to recruit top level players who have rugby experience or have great potential to be good players. We are serious about our program and what we want to accomplish. We are one of the best equipped programs in our conference. Safety is our major concern. We have solid support from our university, to include the President of our University.
Would you please spread the word around to your players that we exist and can be an option for them if they want to attend college and play rugby. If you do have anyone interested please contact me and we can talk about them. You can also give them my information in case their parents need to contact me.
I appreciate all your help and hope that you may have some players who are interested. Thank you for your time.
